Garden Show Highlights
Are you looking for new ideas for your yard, balcony, or deck? The 2009 Yard, Garden & Patio Show is where you'll find inspiration.. This year's show is February 27 - March 1 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland. Here's a peek:
Experience the Display Gardens:
Nine exquisite showcase gardens will welcome you to the show. Within each you will find exciting new plants, landscaping ideas and the latest in outdoor living accessories by some of the area's premier landscape designers and contractors. Whether you are looking to create your own entertaining oasis at home or just simply stroll through the gardens and admire their magnificence, you will not want to miss this event. Each display offers an abundance of creative and very doable ideas you can apply in your own outdoor space. Stroll down the Mutual Materials walkway and experience each of these breathtaking gardens.

Shop from hundreds of Exciting Exhibits
The show is known for its unique vendors. Over 250 different exhibits will be showcasing and selling the latest plants and products. Under one roof you can find just about anything for outdoor living, including plants, furniture, garden accents, yard decor, books, landscape supplies, and even landscape services. Stop by and speak with members of local garden clubs.
Dig in with the family at Kids Digs
Bring your whole family to the Yard, Garden & Patio Show! Kids 12 and under are free and our Kids Digs area will be filled with activities where kids and parents can learn and have fun. Want to know about native plants, hiking safety, or camping basics? The Cascade Pacific Council Boy Scouts of America will be there to showcase their outdoor and gardening knowledge as well as provide fun learning activities. Need to take a break? A face painter will bring to life your favorite inner character, and Rainbow Play Systems will have an area where supervised kids can climb and slide. Kids age 1 to 101 will find something fun this year at the Yard, Garden & Patio Show.
Take in our free Garden Seminars
The show features more than 45 hours of educational seminars. Up to four sessions run concurrently throughout the day during show hours; each lasts about an hour. Seminars feature some of the top garden, plant and landscape experts, who gladly share their knowledge with you.

Plants, Plants and more Plants!!
The Yard, Garden & Patio Show is about plants! The Remarkable Green Market is designed for that special, hard-to-find unusual plant and unique varities. A percentage of the profits from the Remarkable Green Market will be donated to the Oregon State University Master Gardener program. Master gardners are on hand to help you find that perfect plant for any garden space.
Invigorate your garden year-round at the Winter-in-Bloom Display
Is your yard lacking interest and excitement in the winter? Stop by the Hardy Plant Society's Winter Interest Display and see a vast display of plants that will transform your garden into a year-round retreat with color, blooms and interest. Experts will be on hand to talk about your yard and help identify plants to ride your yard of the winter blahs.
Grab a glass of wine in the Wine Garden
Here's a treat you won't want to miss! The show will feature 15 local wineries providing tastings, wine by the glass, bottle or even case. Grab a glass, sit back and relax in the beautiful garden retreat. Or, take the glass and continue through the show!
Container Displays
Discover how much can be done with container gardens. Large, flowing, decorative containers filled with creative designs thread down the three main show boulevards for all to see.
Ask the expert...
You are sure to leave the show inspired and excited about the possibilities you have seen, but don't know where to begin? Well, we have the answers! Located in our display gardens, experts of a diverse range of topics will be available to help you with your specific questions. What should you build that retaining wall out of to be functional and beautiful? What elements are you lacking in your meditation garden? Why does your dog eat your favorite plant? All these questions and more can be answered by our experts in a personal conversation with you.
Don't worry about your bags!
As always we will have the parcel pick-up available for you to leave your packages and plants and keep your hands open for more! Once you are ready to take your treasures home, you may carry out your packages or drive directly to our loading zone where volunteers will help you load up!
